In the near future we anticipate erecting a hoophouse so we used our handy dandy hoop bender today to bend all the metal we need to put it together, it took a relatively short amount of time so there was still time for...............drilling freshly cut oak logs to inoculate with shitake mushroom spawn!! Keith drilled the holes using a chalk line to keep them evenly spaced , my son Gary and I followed him with the plug spawn and use mallets to tap them into the holes, the picture above shows us sealing the plugs with wax. The logs will now be incubated for about 6 months until they are ready to fruit!! I'm thinking I want to do a few logs with Lion's Mane mushrooms also since this went pretty smoothly!! A little tomato seed starting was also engaged in( who ordered more than 20 varieties?) but will be followed by a LOT more this week!!
